The latest from the farm…
Here at the farm, we try our best to work with nature and minimize the disruption of natural habitat as much as possible. We aim to increase sustainable agriculture in our local community and provide local, healthful produce to our family, friends, and neighbours. We practice land stewardship through careful selection of both land development and protected areas on our property. Our decisions and practices are drawn from evidence-based research, local knowledge, and our experience to maintain healthy ecosystems in our fields and forests, with minimal disruption to our indigenous New Brunswick fauna and flora. This approach is called ecological farming — farming in harmony with the environment. We believe it is our responsibility to protect both nature and small-scale agriculture for the generations to come.

Haskap Berry U-Pick
Haskap (also known as Camerise, or Honeyberry) are delicious, early-season berries that are packed with antioxidants and vitamins. A highly-sought out berry at farmers markets and grocery retailers, Haskap is now found in many products like jams, jellies, baked goods, small-batch wine and craft beer.
Local wild bees are the hardest workers on our orchard. The surrounding natural forest and shrubs provide habitat for bees’ winter survival, and our orchard provides an abundant supply of food for them in the spring. We farm without pesticides to promote the health and diversity of wild bee populations and to provide healthy local produce to our surrounding communities.
We currently offer fresh, pesticide-free berries off-the-bush by the pint or pound at our U-pick during the harvest season.

Season
Our U-pick offers Haskap berries at their finest: fresh off of the bush. Berry farming involves many unique tasks and activities throughout the year. A typical year at the Haskap orchard:
- Off-season: rows are mulched, fertilized, lines and posts are repaired, plants are pruned.
- Spring: the season of never-ending weeding and mowing begins.
- Mid-May: Blossoms arrive, a variety of bees are busy pollinating.
- Early June: Blossoms have developed into fruiting bodies. Nets are installed over plants to prevent birds from over-indulging.
- Late June: begin testing the sugar levels in the berries which lets us know when they are ready for harvest.
- Early July: Harvest season, our U-Pick opens on dry days.
- Mid-/Late July: Harvest season ends, our U-Pick closes for the season.
